The Department of Modernization of the Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, directed by José Guillén, in collaboration with the newspaper La Verdad, has organized the first edition of the global conference Urban Intelligence, which will be held on February 6 and 7 in the Víctor Villegas Auditorium.
It is an innovative and open event in which to discuss the latest advances, technological solutions and projects related to smart cities.
Guillén explained that "it is a unique meeting where, on the one hand, companies, organizations and experts from the Smart City panorama will concentrate, and on the other hand, professionals and the general public interested in topics such as the digital transformation of our cities, smart mobility and disruptive technologies such as blockchain, internet of things, cloud computing and cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin. "
Among the speakers are the writer and philosopher Elsa Punset and the cyber security expert Chema Alonso.
In addition, during the second day of the event, February 7, several sessions will be dedicated to share the work done by the City of Murcia and seven other European cities (Newcastle, Eindhoven, Istanbul, Palermo, Forli, Sant Cugat del Vallès and Tallin ) in the European project 'Roadmaps for Energy', in addition to interactive sessions with workshops aimed at topics such as urban mobility, young talent and entrepreneurship or citizen participation and open government.
The conference is promoted and organized by the City of Murcia through the services of European Programs, ALEM the Local Agency of Energy and Climate Change of Murcia and the Computer Service.
"This event is another important example of the clear vocation of the city of Murcia to assume a leading role in the international scenario of smart cities," said the councilor.
It must be remembered that Murcia leads together with Rivas, the energy working group of the Spanish Network of Smart Cities and that in the first half of 2018 it will begin to develop the MiMurcia smart city project, to which RED.es granted the highest possible subsidy (8 million euros) within the National Smart Cities Plan.
