The Minister of Education, Adela Martínez-Cachá, presents the events, which include days of coexistence, tourist routes and a 'flashmob'
The Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Adela Martínez-Cachá, along with the director of the IES Alfonso X The Wise of Murcia, Andrés Nieto, presented the guide of activities that the center will carry out on the occasion of the celebration of its 180 anniversary.
Among the activities include a logo design contest to commemorate the anniversary, convivial days, tourist routes or a 'flashmob'.
Martínez-Cachá stressed the importance of this event because "the Alfonso X el Sabio de Murcia Institute is the third oldest in all of Spain and an emblem of the Murcian capital, an exponent of educational quality in the Region of Murcia".
The counselor also stressed that "the culmination of the events will coincide with the implementation of its new facilities after a comprehensive reform of the center."
The works "have involved an investment of 1.2 million euros and will benefit 1,200 students," he explained.
The activities started last month and will continue until May.
These include those that will be held on the occasion of the St. Thomas Aquinas festivity on January 26, with several musical performances and a flashmob by the student association.
In addition, all attendees can enjoy a day of coexistence.
In February there will be several exhibitions and conferences focused on the relationship of the institute with the university, and in March several tourist routes will be carried out and plaques will be placed in the different facilities that the center had in the city of Murcia.
A documentary will be presented in April and the new facilities will be inaugurated, and in May the events will culminate with visits to different museums for one night.
