Puertas de Castilla Center presents its new programming betting on research, innovation and creativity for the development of thought, and the creative economy as well as the expressive qualities that characterize cultural goods and services.
The Councilor for Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesus Pacheco, explained that "the Puertas de Castilla proposes a program that claims that cultural and creative industries not only promote growth through the creation of value, but have also become in key elements of the innovation system of the entire economy. According to this vision, the projects that will be developed in the Center will be nurtured by different artists, curators, students and professors that stimulate creativity and innovation.
The programming of the Puertas de Castilla aims to demonstrate that there are contemporary creative discourses and creators that attend to the latest artistic trends, and that this is decisive, not only for the establishment of a common fabric that facilitates the assumption of identity and the formation of spirits. critical, but also for the development of a growing economic structure.
In this sense, the new program presented by the Puertas de Castilla Center will invest in a breeding ground that will generate favorable conditions for the evolution of local artistic work so that it becomes a necessary, profitable and sustainable task that results in a general benefit for all areas of society.

For its development will have exhibitions made by students of Fine Arts of the Faculty of Murcia who will learn in an innovative way the Cultural Management in all its areas, with students of architecture of the UPCT that will pose new ways of understanding the city, creativity and the culture through different proposals of ephemeral projects, and artists of national and international scope that will give a creative vision in relation to the photography, the performance and the sound.
PROJECTS
MUCC (Murcia Creative City).
The I + D + i project curated by Ramón Gómez Ruiz and UPCT professor Ricardo Carcelén González is the result of several months of work with different architecture students with the sole purpose of encouraging the emergence of creative solutions and ideas to improve the urbanism of the city of Murcia through knowledge and prior exposure of other creative processes.
It will be located in the black room of the center and will extend through different spaces of the same, giving a vision of occupation of the architecture to break the barriers that the own architecture that contains it.

WHEN THE RIVER DOES NOT SOUNDS.
Located in the exhibition hall, the I + D + i Project curated by the professor of BBAA Antonio García Cano as a result of the work of the master in production and artistic management of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Murcia after making a profound investigation of the results of climate change, propose solutions and unreal situations that rethink the commitment and the situation of the planet in which we live.
The creative project will be directly related to that of INNER NATURE;
an international project coordinated by Chiara Sgaramella that is born from the sum of different artists and curators such as Ronnie Karfiol, Nobina Gupta, Johanna Reich, Juanma Valentin, Lucía Loren, Roosje Verschoor and Pat Van Boechel among others, with the aim of reflecting on themes of art and ecology through audiovisual creation.
It will be possible to visit from February 2 to April 12.
PHOTO ARCHITECTURE.
A specific project coordinated by José Luis Carrillo for the Puertas de Castilla center room, made up of pieces and interventions by the architectural photographer David Frutos.
His work has been published in more than 300 publications around the world, as well as in countless digital media.
It will run from April 19 to July 27.
WITCH IN THE DARK SCANDINAVIAN WILDERNESS, WITCH IN THE WOODS.
A mystical work of the American artist based in Sweden, Darby Old Hag Lahger and the artist Juanjo Martínez Cánovas in which the experimentation is carried out with some impressive facial tattoos that make that through music, video, photography and Drawing will create images of isolation, tragedy, freedom and escape.
Their joint work will begin on September 20 until November 29.
NEW CURATORS
The purpose of the New Curators project is to promote and offer opportunities to young people who are starting their artistic career in this field and who still do not work at a professional level.
The project aims to support new curators, promoting training in the management of curators, so that the applicant achieves a precise knowledge of the artistic practice within the wide range offered by this field with real projects for the Sala Negra and Sala Nana from the Puertas de Castilla Center.
It is intended that young curators increase their interest in the study and training in art as a fundamental tool in their professional future, that is, obtain experience in the art curator, develop the understanding and interpretation of the exhibition space and learn about the ground the whole gear and technical infrastructure of a public center.
Pablo Sandoval
First: For this first exhibition, Sandoval will present the artists ATTUA + SAELIA, who delve into the development of evolution and adaptation of life in inhospitable landscapes, places created by the nefarious and aggressive management of human resources.
At the same time, take the opportunity to question the identity and semiology of the materials, elements, to which we then label them.

For the development of his work as a curator, Soriano intends to work along the lines of his previous exhibition project Cadena Atrófica with artists that attack the semiotic bases of hegemonic discourses.
With Orgy, title of the exhibition, poses and develops from the device drag King (an exacerbated interpretation of gender roles that raises the different questions on the construction of gender) the role of gender in the lifting of the discourse of history.
Her work with the professors of the Master's Degree in Cultural Studies and Visual Arts (feminist perspectives and Cuir / Queer) -MUECA- is a research program of the Miguel Hernández University in which specialists from national and international universities participate.
NEW DANCE PROYECT
The aim of this dance project curated by international dancer and choreographer Piedad Albarracín is to bring to Murcia the proposals of Spanish and European artists to promote art, performance and dance.
Open doors and bring European culture and trends closer;

SPACES OF RESEARCH AND ARTISTIC CREATION: SALA MEDUSA AND SALÃ CÃCLOPE.
The Puertas de Castilla Center consolidates a new area of ​​research and contemporary artistic creation from February 2 to December, and begins with the Medusa Room to carry out an R + D + i project in the field of sculpture, ceramics and land-art, being the theoretical framework or reference region of Murcia and taking advantage of the resources of a globally extended art.
The new manufacturing technologies applied to different printing material such as clay, would allow us to begin a process where the change of thought in production is an example of a new paradigm on the artisanal of sculpture known until now, will be refuted with the production of pieces that redefine traditional methods to achieve designs based on multiple geometries.
The prototypes designed will be aimed at architectural applications linked to the thermodynamics of spaces, architectures and landscapes.
In it will coexist artists from different disciplines such as the collective Potteries Think Tank, MdB and the illustrator Grassa Toro among others
For its part, the Cyclops Room will open a new stage in the formation and dissemination of contemporary photography through viewing of photobooks, masterclass, specific conferences and specialized workshops from February 19 with the main objective of using the technique as a tool of photography to determine the new expressive and experimental modes that arise in the digital era but without neglecting analogical and chemical photography.
Its users will approach photography as a creative process, as a photographic language and investigate its use;
analyzing works of different artists that use the cameras as an expression element.
CONCERT AL-DUAL
March 17 at 9:00 p.m.
