The Department of Social Rights of the City of Murcia, within the framework of its actions of promotion and social promotion that have as final recipients those social groups that are in a situation of greater social vulnerability, has granted during 2017 more than one million euros in subsidies.
"We are talking about those groups most in need of greater protection from public authorities, associations and entities that work with people with disabilities, with children, welcoming and inserting immigrants, with people in social exclusion, social dining rooms or rehousing families", the councilor has highlighted.
To ensure this protection, the Department of Social Rights continues to promote collaboration agreements with non-profit entities established in the municipality of Murcia that serve and promote actions aimed at those groups of greater social vulnerability.
A work carried out under the collaboration and supervision of this administration and which guarantees the provision of social services aimed at improving the quality of life of all citizens of our municipality, favoring prevention, attention, integration and social promotion, especially those collectives to which they are directed.
Thus, in 2017, the Department of Social Rights has promoted the formalization of a total of 36 Collaboration Agreements with non-profit entities, of which 18 have been for the realization of Social Services projects and another 18 for the realization of Social Welfare projects.
These initiatives are aimed at different collectives in need of greater protection of a social nature, which include the granting of subsidies of a nominative nature.
In terms of social services, the Educa, Los Almendros and Nuevo Futuro Associations, the Segura Food Bank, the Volunteer Platform of the Murcia Region, the Telephone of Hope, the Fundación de Secretariado Gitano, Cáritas, have benefited. Murcia Acoge, Cepaim, the RASINET Federation, Manuel María Vicuña Foundation, Columbares, Neri Association, Accem, Jesus Abandoned and the Habito Association.
All of them have received between 6,000 and 225,000 euros for the development and promotion of their projects, adding a total of 894,000 euros.
As for social welfare projects, they have reached a total of 225,000 euros distributed with grants of between 3,000 and 42,000 euros.
The beneficiaries have been the users of Asteamur, Aspapros, Aspaym, Assido, Auxilia, Astrapace, Ceom, Famdif, Full Inclusion, Fesormu, Cystic Fibrosis, Afim Foundation, Fundown, Affirm, New Horizon, Amupheb and Early Parkinson's Epit.
