73 associations aimed at promoting youth participation will carry out about 400 different activities thanks to the subsidy granted by the Department of Youth and Development Cooperation, directed by Rebeca Pérez, whose total amount amounts to 60,000 euros.
These grants are aimed at youth associations, students or students, federations and youth sections of adult entities and entities providing services to youth, which will develop around 400 different activities, from courses or workshops and educational training not formal, to festivals and cultural competitions, camps, excursions and open-air meetings, solidarity and volunteering, etc.
The purpose of the call is to promote youth, cultural and social activities of general interest, as well as to encourage the functioning of associations and youth groups, and to support cultural, social, educational, leisure time and volunteer initiatives that encourage civic participation and citizen of the young.
The activities subject to subsidy must be carried out between the period between July 2017 and June 2018, adjusting the call for operation by educational courses that are usual in youth and social entities.
This coordination has allowed that practically all the 65 entities that received subsidy last year 16/17 disposed of the aid during the period of activities and could justify it correctly before this new concession.
Of the 88 programs and entities that were submitted to the call, 15 were dismissed for technical reasons, such as late application, lack of required documentation or lack of registration in the Municipal Register of Citizens of the City of Murcia.
Of the 73 subsidized programs, the maximum amount is 1,379 euros, and the minimum of 233 euros, with an average amount of 821 euros.
Among the types of entities, the associations that provide services to youth stand out, among which are a significant number of scout groups and the scouting movement present in the municipality, as well as youth and student associations, and youth sections of adult entities. that act in the field of solidarity, volunteerism and mutual aid, with a forecast of between 15,000 and 20,000 young boys and girls, between 8 and 35 years old, as beneficiaries of the activities.
