The City of Murcia will allocate more than one million euros for the acquisition of two premises that will allow to expand the centers of Espinardo and San Miguel de Murcia.
It is an initiative of the Department of Education, Heritage and Relations with Universities in collaboration with Social Rights, who will ultimately manage these spaces that will improve the existing infrastructure in the municipality to improve the quality of life of the elderly .
The first of the premises is located in the main street of Espinardo and has an area of ​​467 square meters, which is intended for the location of the Senior Social Center of the district.
The investment in this case exceeds 725,000 euros.
It is a site that, due to its surface and location, is "accessible to all the elderly people living in the area, which we think is a very important integrating factor to be taken into account as the Senior Center it constitutes a resource of community character and of social participation ".
The second of the spaces is located on the street Conde de Roche, San Miguel, and will be used to expand the current Social Center for the Elderly.
It has an approved game of 317,000 euros and a size of 350 square meters.
"The place currently leased for the Social Center for the Elderly in San Miguel has been manifestly small, taking into account the volume of activities and services that are being developed and the progressive increase in the number of members that has taken place, said center and the place where it is located. is a benchmark for the elderly in the neighborhood of San Miguel, being located in an area that the neighborhood identifies as a meeting place, coexistence and space for the development of cultural activities, etc ... ", explained Councilman Rafael Gomez.
