The Catholic University of Murcia, through its UCAM Racing Team, will travel to London from July 2 to 8 to participate in the 2018 edition of the Shell Eco Marathon Europe, in which universities and engineering schools from all over Europe compete. looking for the maximum performance of their prototypes with the work done throughout the season.
It should be noted that the UCAM Racing Team is made up of students from multiple degrees such as Computing, Teleco, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Audiovisual Communication, Nursing or Marketing.
New bodies
The team, led by the student of the Degree in Engineering in Telecommunication Systems, José Manuel Herreros, presents as innovation for this edition a lighter and more dynamic body with which they intend to improve the system of measuring the vital signs of the pilot while driving.
"You have to train a lot and then arrive with guarantees to the competition and meet the objective, which is to make a mark, that is, give the number of laps needed to complete a 'run' and enter time at a marked speed" Rafael Melendreras, vice-dean of the Degree in Telecommunication Systems Engineering of the UCAM and one of the promoters of the UCAM Racing Team since his first competition in Berlin in 2010.
In addition, they have been selected to compete in the Communication Awards at the Shell Eco Marathon Europe, thanks to the communication team of the UCAM Racing Team.
