Next Saturday, December 23, the streets of the urban area of ​​Murcia will be filled with Christmas carols, aguilandos, jotas, malagueñas and parrandas.
More than a dozen groups of Las Torres de Cotillas, Corvera, Dolores de Pacheco, Algezares, Aljucer, Beniaján, Los Dolores and Murcia will participate in the meeting of gangs and Peñas Huertanas organized by the Department of Employment, Tourism and Culture and the Federation of Peñas Huertanas.
Thus, from 11 am, from the large Christmas tree in the Plaza Circular, a parade will tour Alfonso X, Plaza Santo Domingo, Trapería, Plaza de la Cruz, Plaza Belluga, ending at the Christmas market installed in La Glorieta .
Around 12.30, the groups will be placed in the surroundings of the Cathedral, where they will sing and dance until 2 pm and where there will be tastings of typical Christmas sweets and mistela.
On the other hand, from 26 to 30 December will be installed in the Roundabout of Spain a large Living Huertano Birth, organized by the Federation of Peñas Huertanas and made by the Peña Huertana El Carro-Carruaje and where the Birth of Jesus will be Plena Huerta de Murcia.
Thus, local Murcian animals will be shown and a manger will be recreated, reminiscent of those old La Huerta stables.
The performances will be every day, from 7 pm, and there will be performances by Peñas Huertanas, starting at 7.30 pm, with the traditional carols and aguilanos
