The spokespersons of the Municipal Socialist Group and Change Murcia in the City, Susana Hernandez and Ignacio Tornel, respectively, will defend in the plenary next Thursday a joint motion of both parties so that the José María Párraga school in El Palmar can expand their facilities recovering a building that today is used by the municipal school El Lugarico and will be free once it has moved to a new location.
The PSOE and Cambiemos Murcia will take to the last plenary session to be held in the Consistory this year after this proposal Hernandez and Tornel today visited the facilities of the educational center of the parish and the annexes, which are the Today it occupies El Lugarico.
In the plenary session of July, the transfer of the infant school was approved to the building of what was to be the center of conciliation of El Palmar and which is currently closed.
This transfer frees a space that formerly belonged to the CEIP José María Párraga, which will be able to recover the evicted classrooms to solve the space problems it faces to attend all its students, as well as other needs such as the conditioning of the library, the auditorium, the computer room and a dining room, a demand that is highly demanded by the parents of the schoolchildren and whose non-existence has caused the loss of enrollment in the aforementioned center.
Since 2008, the center, which has 270 schoolchildren, has been waiting for the implementation of reforms and extensions, which means that it does not have a music classroom or an English department.
There is also no specific room for children with special needs who attend school, and in fact they are using a small space that served as a warehouse.
In addition, many students are forced to take classes at
common areas and a clear example is that the auditorium is also a psychomotricity room and music classroom.
Taking into account these shortcomings and the need to bet decisively for public education, the Municipal Socialist Group and Change Murcia will urge the Governing Board to take the appropriate steps for the school to recover the spaces currently occupied by the nursery school. Placeico in the main street of El Palmar once it has made its transfer.
