The streets around the Segura River will host next Sunday the 6th Christmas Race City of Murcia Rotary Club 2017, 2nd test of the VI Circuit 3x2 Hipercor Racing City of Murcia.
The event, presented this morning by the Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, and representatives of the Athletics Club Murcia and Rotary, is fully consolidated in the annual calendar of sporting events.
The competition will consist of 3 races.
The first one will be the 6 km, scheduled for the categories of youth to veterans F, which will start at 11 o'clock.
The itinerary will be: Exit Paseo Teniente Flomesta, Puente Nuevo, Volunteer Square, Avda. Infante Don Juan Manuel, Intendente Jorge Palacios Avenue, Paseo de Garay, Red Cross Square, Paseo Teniente Flomesta fin 1 turn, Puente Mayor Miguel Caballero, Avda. of the Segura River, Volunteers Square and from here the first round is repeated with a goal in front of Murcia City Council.
45 minutes later, at 11.45, children and cadets will leave, which will cover 1,700 meters, with the following route: Departure Paseo Teniente Flomesta, Puente Nuevo, Volunteers Square, Avda. Infante Don Juan Manuel, Hospital Bridge, Paseo de Garay, Plaza Cruz Roja, Paseo Teniente Flomesta and goal in front of Murcia City Council.
Finally, at 12 o'clock, it will be the turn of the youngest and youngest children, which will run 900 meters with the Paseo Teniente Flomesta exit, Puente Nuevo, Voluntarios Square, Rio Segura Avenue, Miguel Caballero Mayor Bridge, Flomesta Teniente Avenue and the Murcia City Council goal.
The planned circuit, with a common section for the three modalities, runs through the surroundings of the Segura River, through straight and wide streets and avenues and an asphalt in very good condition, which is highly valued by the participants.
So far, the call has 650 registered (500 for the race of 6 km and 150 for children's races), so it is estimated that the final participation will exceed 700 runners.
Regarding the organization of the test, it should be noted:
The circuits are designed to be fast, predominantly flat with small undulations.
Areas of services in the Glorieta de España and proximities, where the services of delivery of numbers, exit, public address, medical services, set of goal and inflatable castles will be centralized.
Supply control, with a goal post, where beverages will be delivered to runners.
Awards, which are distributed among all categories, with an amount between prizes and gifts that exceeds € 20,400, with a bag of gifts
Medical assistance by the Association of Volunteers of Civil Protection of El Palmar, with 1 ambulance UVI, 1 conventional medicalized, 1 conventional transport, 2 doctors, 3 Ats, and 3 technical drivers
Official College of Podiatrists of the Region of Murcia to treat chafing, blisters, etc.
In addition to the City of Murcia, through the Department of Sports and Health, collaborate with the VI Rotary Club Christmas, Gemina Procesos Alimentarios SL, Amounal Rent a car, Sports Stores Tovarsport, Tomás Appliances and Hipercor Shopping Center El Tiro, as well as Nestlé, Estrella de Levante and Bolaseca.
Together with them, the support of the Murcia Athletics Club, Local Police, Civil Protection and Emergencies volunteers is essential.
