José Ballesta collects in Madrid this distinction to technological innovation in the Administration, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda.
The candidacy of the capital of the Region ('MiMurcia: Your Smart, Close, Open and Innovative City Council') has competed along with the projects presented by the Junta de Andalucía (Smart Region-Fiware Zone) and the Ministry of Justice (Digital Justice ).
The Murcia City Council has been distinguished with the enerTIC Award for Innovation and Technology for energy efficiency of the Digital Era, in the category Smart eGoverment;
an award that has been collected this morning by the mayor of the city, José Ballesta, in the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda.
The event was attended by the Secretary of State for the Information Society and the Digital Agenda, José María Lasalle.
The candidacy of the capital of the Region in the category for the best Intelligent Government project ('MiMurcia: Your Smart, Close, Open and Innovative City Council') has competed along with the proposals presented by the Junta de Andalucía (Smart Region-Fiware Zone ) and the Ministry of Justice (Digital Justice).
The enerTIC Awards emerged five years ago within the framework of the Experts Groups of the Business Platform for the improvement of enerTIC energy efficiency and, since then, they have been governed by the highest criteria of independence, transparency and rigor.
This year, the Technical Committee evaluated a total of 76 projects, choosing three finalists in each category.
The smart city model 'MiMurcia', which was already rated by the Ministry of Industry as the most ambitious in all of Spain, in competitive competition with 111 cities in the call of Red.es, has been distinguished today as the best in the category of electronic Government, since "it supposes a revolution in the relation between institutions and citizens, allowing the anticipated communication of the Administration with the neighbors, obtaining a more efficient use of the resources and conquering great improvements in the quality of life of the people" .
Paperwork 24 hours
In Murcia, the pilot tests of the intelligent management of the city have already begun with the installation of the first sensors and an important step has been taken in the implementation of the eAdministration, since any procedure can be initiated already electronically, opening the doors of the City Council to citizens and businesses 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
With a progressive implementation plan to three years and a total budget of 8 million euros, MiMurcia "not only serves the technological or instrumental part but is fundamentally governed by a humanist perspective: a Murcian, a City Council;
500,000 Murcians, 500,000 municipalities.
The objective is that each citizen can design their own local Administration through new technologies, according to their own interests and needs, "explained José Ballesta.
Abenarabi will be the brain of the intelligent Murcia
In collaboration with the University of Murcia, the City Council has deployed the Smart City test platform designed to carry out pilot experiences in services such as public transport (buses, tram and bicycles), the traffic situation, energy consumption in municipal buildings or availability of parking spaces.
It is a 'laboratory test' at the technological level with which we are testing the collection of information in real time of the various services of the city and its integration, demonstrating the reliability and effectiveness of this system, which is the germ of the Smart City platform.
The municipal building of Abenarabi will be the place where the Smart City platform will be deployed, which will be integrated into the Single Monitoring Center (CEUS), the nerve center and intelligence of the entire project.
CEUS will monitor and process all the information, offering a real-time analysis of the state of the municipality and the different services.
It will be the brain of the city, a control center in which urgent measures can be evaluated in situations of crisis or emergency, while it will be a space for technological demonstration open to all citizens.
