The Mayor José Ballesta and members of the Corporation have inaugurated this afternoon the municipal Bethlehem, located in the Episcopal Palace and made by the Belenista Association José de Nazaret de la Arboleja and the Association of Native Fountain Friends.
During the ceremony, Mayor José Ballesta was accompanied by the Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, Monsignor José Manuel Lorca Planes, in the ribbon cutting and subsequent composition journey, as well as members of the Coral Discantus, who have put the musical touch to this endearing inauguration.
It is a nativity scene nativity scene set in the city and orchard of the nineteenth century, and is made with porexpan, plaster, cork bornizo and natural vegetation.
It is also complemented by the figures of artisans Manuel Nicolás Almansa, Carlos Enrique Cuenca García, Jesús Ramírez Tupín and the young Murcian sculptor Francano.
The nativity scene is made up of traditional mysteries (Annunciation of the Angel to the Virgin Mary, The Dream of Saint Joseph, Asking for Posada, People's Square and Market, Annunciation to the Shepherds, Birth, Cavalcade of the Magi, Degollación de los Inocentes and Flight to Egypt from the Holy Family) to which the Miracle of Wheat has been added.
In Christmas 2018 this Bethlehem municipal will be carried out by the Belenista Association of Los Martínez del Puerto who for several years have created the parish nativity scene of the parish of about 70 square meters on two levels.
With this group they have won six first prizes in the nativity contest organized by the Belenista Association of Murcia.
