The Governing Board has approved the accession to the 2018 edition of the State Program of Circulation of Performing Arts Shows in spaces of Local entities (Platea), organized by the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music in collaboration with the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces.
The purpose of the program is to promote the joint programming of professional dance, theater and circus companies, by scenic spaces owned by public local entities, to reactivate and enrich their cultural programming, facilitate communication between the autonomous communities and guarantee citizens the access to culture.
In this way, access to a diverse and quality artistic offer is facilitated by pursuing the use of the local scenic equipments built or rehabilitated in the last decades and promoting the Spanish creation and the diversity of artistic genres.
The City of Murcia, which has been a member of this Program since 2014, has obtained state funding to support the performing arts in excess of 145,000 euros, with which works of quality that escape from the circuits were hired. commercial or taquilleros.
