The Catholic University has welcomed today the presentation of the EmFemenino training program that has launched the International Chair of Women, Business and Sports of the UCAM.
In the act the rector of this University, Josefina García recalled that this institution has a large number of women occupying positions of responsibility, but never for a matter of quota, but for their professional skills.
In the event, which was held in the Chapter Hall of the Catholic University, were present in addition to the rector, the Minister of Family and Equality of Opportunities, Violante Tomás, the coordinator of the International Chair Women, Business and Sports, María Dolores Bolarín, the director of projects of the Incyde Foundation, Selene Trotta, the executive director of the ITM, the Technological Institute of the UCAM, César Nicolás and numerous professors of the University and students of this training program.
In the Region of Murcia, one out of every two entrepreneurs is a woman, a rate that is above the national average, which reaches 44.8%.
Data that according to the Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Violante Tomas are an incentive to continue promoting equality in the company and the reconciliation of family and work life.
"We work so that women can be on the same level as men, but never by quotas, but by merits and abilities."
Something that coincides the rector of the Catholic University, Josefina Garcia who says that "the UCAM is expressed not only with words, but also with facts, and one of them, is the creation of this International Chair of Women, Business and Sports , unique in Spain, in this institution works a large number of women in positions of responsibility because the UCAM has full confidence in them and their capabilities and not a question of quotas.
The coordinator of this Chair, María Dolores Bolarín, assures that the objective of this entrepreneurship course is "to fight for real equality between men and women within the business, political and private sphere, and eradicate gender violence".
For the Director of Projects of the Incyde Foundation, Selene Trotta "is about making women visible and able to carry out their projects, we provide them with a global vision of the different areas of the company, in order to find market opportunities and develop an improvement plan, always with the help of management tools and an own methodology, contrasted and effective through joint and individualized sessions ".
The EmFemenino program: Feminine Entrepreneurship in emerging economic sectors and new market opportunities is taught at the ITM Business Incubator (pavilion 9 of the Jerónimos Campus, Guadeloupe) and the continuous registration period open at itm.ucam.edu/ emfemenino
