The City of Murcia has approved a collaboration agreement with the Federation of Murcia Associations of People with Physical and Organic Disability, FAMDIF / COCEMPE and the granting of a grant for the development of awareness projects for the Suppression of Psychosocial Barriers in Disability Psychic and Organic and Activities of Leisure and Free Time in vacation spaces for young people with Physical and Organic Disability.
This was announced by the Councilor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, who stressed "with this help of 20,000 euros we collaborate with partners of the association in the municipality of Murcia, and their families, as well as professionals, volunteers and students, who add to this inclusive project. "
Specifically, the Project of Sensitization for the Suppression of Psychosocial Barriers in the Psychic and Organic Disability, which aims to promote awareness and mentalization of society about this group, promoting positive attitudes regarding the rights of people with physical disabilities, through the dissemination of information, coordinating the relationship of the federation with the local, regional and state media.
This project includes a Training Course for 50 Volunteers who collaborate in the programmed activities, actions aimed at Early Childhood Education (2nd cycle), Primary (5th and 6th grade students), Secondary, Bachiller, Training Cycles, and Faculties of the University of Murcia , with Talks, Drawing Contest, Lip Dup, installation of the Circuit of awareness of architectural barriers, and other acts of awareness.
The direct users that the project can reach are estimated at around 8,000 people.
On the other hand, the Leisure Activities and Free Time Project in vacation areas for young people with physical and organic disabilities, which aims to provide young people who are part of the federation, especially those with reduced mobility, activities of leisure and free time that favor their personal autonomy and their self-esteem, given the lack of public and private opportunities that they encounter when they try to access them;
and on the other hand support families, offering a space of respite for caregivers.
The project includes 4 camps and weekend coexistence in Almeria, La Manga and Totana.
It is expected that a total of 85 children and young people with physical disabilities will participate, and that the indirect beneficiaries who will be provided with family respite will be around 170 relatives.
