The Cloister of the University of Murcia (UMU), which met today, November 20, at the Auditorium, on the Merced campus, has approved the additional, transitory, final and repealing provisions of the Statutes.
With regard to the additional provisions, they provide for the possibility of signing agreements with the Autonomous Community for the use of hospitals and health centers for teaching, assistance and research purposes.
And they add that the hospitals linked to the UMU will have as a fundamental objective the development, at the highest scientific-technical level, of the care work and the realization of the teaching and research functions.
It also contemplates the linking of care positions of the health institution with teaching positions of the UMU and the recognition of collaborators and honorary collaborators.
As for the transitory provisions, they indicate that all the general collegiate bodies and other individual and private bodies will continue in the exercise of their functions until the completion of their respective mandates.
The final provision indicates that the new Statutes will enter into force twenty days after their publication in the Official Bulletin of the Region of Murcia (BORM).
After the approval of these provisions, the Statutes will be submitted to the UMU's Legal Department, after which they will be approved by the Cloister before being sent to the Autonomous Community, which must give the final approval.
The rector, José Orihuela, has indicated that the draft will also be submitted to the Gender Equality Unit of the university itself.
