On Tuesday, November 21, at 12:30 a.m., the conference "Journalists against racism" will be held in the auditorium of the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Murcia (Campus of Espinardo), by Juan de Dios Ramírez-Heredia, lawyer, journalist and president of the Unión Romaní.
The latest report of the Romani Union "Journalists against racism? The Spanish press before the 2016 Gitano People", highlights that the media treat information about the Roma community in a partial and stereotyped way, especially in pejorative contexts, on television and on social networks.
To make the report, a total of 2,148 news items from 329 media were analyzed.
This is an activity programmed within the cycle "Seminaries of the Rector", which in the last three years has brought to the UMU fifteen current issues that have been developed by specialists of recognized prestige.
