Remember that the Municipal Socialist Group proposed in the Debate of the State of the Municipality a program of actions in the traditional hydraulic network of the garden that gives rise to be able to request that this be a UNESCO World Heritage
The Municipal Socialist Group has denounced this morning the state of dirt and bad odors in which are the acequias of La Azacaya, in Los Dolores, where, in one of its floodgates, you can see an appliance, bottles and foam, in addition to bad smells, which denotes "the little interest on the part of the government team, the PP, to conserve this infrastructure so important for our municipality."
"In the case of a historical construction, which is part of the hydraulic heritage of our municipality, it is difficult to understand the state of abandonment, made worse by repairs on the walls of the gate without taking into account its age," explains Councilman Enrique Ayuso, during a visit to the area, accompanied by the vice president of the Municipal Board of Los Dolores, Loli Lacárcel.
In addition, he points out that "it is unfortunate that one of the hallmarks of Murcia, as is the large network of ditches, which have supplied water for centuries throughout the garden, be despised in this way."
Similarly, Ayuso, who recalls that in the area of La Azacaya converge the ditches of Alquibla, Alfande and Sierpe, protested the state, "also deplorable, the environment of the ditches, which is serving as a dump with remains of works and pruning "
Neither the floodgates are fulfilling their function because they are obstructed and can not get up.
Lacárcel reports that "this area of La Azacaya, well equipped and rehabilitated, could be dedicated to recreation and leisure, you could even place a lookout for the enjoyment of the neighbors."
The councilor points out that during the Debate of the State of the Municipality, the Socialist Group proposed the development of a program of actions in the traditional hydraulic network of the garden that gives rise to be able to request that this be a UNESCO Heritage, together with the Council of Men Good, what "would contribute in a very remarkable way to put in value this infrastructure so rich and exceptional of Murcia and, at the same time, to propitiate the maintenance that it deserves".
For all, he claims the government team "take action on the matter and act with caution and haste while preserving this heritage before it goes to waste, and also urging the Board of Landowners, who has an agreement with the City Council of 140,000 euros precisely for the maintenance of acequias, to be responsible with their obligations.
