The Governing Board of the City of Murcia has approved the task of drafting the project and direction of the remodeling works of the supply plaza of Cabezo de Torres to URBAMUSA.
A work proposed by the Department of Commerce, Organization and Institutional Relations with the aim of correcting different deficiencies detected throughout its useful life and to improve its functionality and exterior and interior image.
In this way, "we seek to increase its characteristic commercial activity, as well as to propose other activities related to such commercial use and to promote alternative uses of the public building (promotional events, musical evenings, information days and consumer awareness, conferences quality of different products, storytelling in the market, shopping marathon, etc ...) ", explained Maruja Pelegrín.
The actions to be developed to achieve this market renewal will focus on two fundamental points: the remodeling of the exterior façade, by means of the "covering" of the current enclosure of exposed brick with a ceramic or metallic color planking, which reinforces its image of the building public and open shopping center;
and the interior image, renewing the most significant interior finishes, with a new pavement that is easier to clean and visually more attractive than the current terrazzo, new false ceilings that improve the acoustic and thermal comfort of the building, and the renewal of lighting, base of lamps of leds, that improve the energetic efficiency when having lower consumption and greater durability and luminosity.
In addition, other specific interventions are proposed such as the improvement of toilets and remodeling of the backyard and storage areas to improve their functionality.
These actions are intended to make the market a new point of reference in the hamlet, involving merchants in the realization of different activities to attract new customers and improve the commercial activity of the town.
The planned works have an estimated total budget of € 209,275, including VAT, and a maximum execution period of 4 months.
