The Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Valencia José Antonio Martínez Serrano stressed during the conference offered at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Murcia (UMU) that globalization has posed many challenges and has brought problems, but has supposed an advance in global welfare.
The speaker pointed out that globalization has meant important changes in the production of goods and services throughout the world, so that the North has deindustrialized and the South has industrialized.
For its part, technology was developed in rich countries and enjoyed in them, while now enjoyed throughout the world.
He also pointed out that in most of the products it is somewhat improper to speak of Made in ..., since they are made thanks to the incorporation of components from all over the world.
During the ceremony, the dean of the aforementioned faculty, Samuel Baixauli, and the ex-dean José Daniel Buendía, who was the lecturer's presenter, also took the floor.
