15 entrepreneurs share 75,000 euros thanks to the Business Projects Competition (14/11/2017)

The Councilor for Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesus Pacheco, today delivered the awards that recognize the good business ideas submitted to the Business Projects Competition, which this year has celebrated its XXV with important developments.

One of them, the change of scenery for the celebration of the act of delivery of the awards.

The traditional Plenary Hall has been replaced by the Romea Theater where, in addition, all the participants in the contest have been summoned, who have met at the same time the jury's opinion.

The contest, which this year has distributed 75,000 euros in prizes - to which two training grants for the two best proposals are added -, responds to the City Council's objective of technically supporting and economically helping Murcian entrepreneurs in the early stages of laying in motion of their business, which usually represents the most complicated stage of the journey.

92 projects have been submitted to this call that, from the perspective of its promoters, have all the necessary ingredients to become a company and, to achieve this, they have sought technical and financial support from the City Council.

The distinguished ones with the first prize -given with 14,000 euros- have been Miriam Losada del Olmo and Roy Petter Dyrdahl Torgersen, for "Nido Robotics", a company dedicated to the design, manufacture and wholesale and retail of remote-controlled robots, their components and payload.

Along with the economic amount, they can also take a master's degree in Business Administration in the 2018/19 academic year, thanks to the agreement with the Fundación Universidad Empresa.

The second prize -10,000 euros and a training grant- has gone to Helia de San Nicolás Juárez, for Arkimista, who works in the design and manufacture of jewelry that is the result of the architectural analysis of a singular building, made with the purpose of identify its essence, enhance it and materialize it in a contemporary jewel, making use of it for abstraction and geometry.

In addition, there have been two third prizes, each endowed with 6,000 euros.

One of them, obtained by Iván Martínez Vázquez with "Im luthier", repair company of wind and wood wind metal musical instruments.

The other, has fallen in "Mano a mano", from Errazu Food, formed by Juliana Errazu and Mariano Errazu, who have created a company framed in the food and hospitality sector, ranging from the manufacturing activity to those of distribution, service and sale to the public, with the aim of introducing in the Spanish hospitality a typology of premises based on the production of typical Italian and Argentine products: Neapolitan pizzas and criollo empanadillas.

Cristina Martínez Salvatierra, with a proposal of previous editions, has achieved the fourth prize -5,000 euros- for "Escape Play", a live escape games room, in which participants, based on ingenuity and skill, passing tests , solving enigmas and working as a team, they manage to escape from a closed and unknown space in a maximum of 60 minutes.

The river and the orchard also have a prize

This year, for the first time, a new category of awards has been established - worth 5,000 euros each - to recognize projects linked to the Segura River and the orchard.

In this case, Alejandro Raúl Casals, head of "El tío de la barca", has achieved the award in the category of "Rio Segura", for his company of renting boats of oars and walk along the river Segura as it passes through the capital, from the butte of the river next to the Manterola Bridge to the Pasarela.

For its part, Fátima González Barahona, responsible for "Fatari", has won the "Huerta de Murcia" award for its business dedicated to the cultivation and sale of edible fungi, (thistle mushroom), through a system of cultivation in bags of microperforated plastic.

The list of outstanding projects is completed with 8 second prize of 3,000 euros each, which have fallen on:

- "Miwuki", by Álvaro de Francisco González and Álvaro Serrano Echalecu, promoters of a company dedicated to developing a business plan for a computer and mobile application in Android and iOS oriented to the management, diffusion and financing of protectors and associations of animals.

- Cooperativa "La Lido", distribution for logistics operators and classic courier in bicycle and derivatives, driven by Alfonso Martínez Valero, Teresa María Barbero Sempere and Adil Keyt

- "Universe Lemon" and his "Lemonacademy".

According to its creators - Juan Jiménez Morillas, Jaime Navarro Cruz, Jorge Simó Jiménez and David López Monllor - the company is born from the need to prepare the youngest to face an uncertain future, working with innovative learning methodologies and the use of new technologies as a tool.

- Mercedes Caballero Pardo and her business idea, "La Parda", a proposal dedicated to the design and manufacture, in an artisanal way, of women's handbags made of leather and wood.

- "Soriano trainers", created by Ricardo and Federico Soriano Gallo, a center of therapeutic physical exercise directed to specific populations and prevention of diseases.

- Jennifer Ridge and Rebecca Huéscar, "Be Little", which offers services and support for families with special needs by having a member from 0 to 3 years

- Cristian and Esther Sánchez Rodríguez, with "Natur-Tene", a 100% natural food coloring powder in water-soluble powder from beta-carotene.

- "Almaleón", by Ascencion Aparicio León, who has presented a brand of jewelry and fashion accessories where the sensitivity of the soul and the strength of the lion come together, creating a world full of meaning and magic.

The jury, chaired by the Councilor for Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesús Pacheco, has been formed by a representative of each municipal group, a technician from the Employment Service;

a representative of the organizations Amusal, OMEP, Ucomur, AJE, FUE-ENAE, CCOO and the winner of the last edition.

Entrepreneurs Chair Awards

Also, the councilor has delivered the prizes of the contest of ideas of the Chair of Entrepreneurs, initiative launched thanks to the collaboration between the University of Murcia, and the Center for Municipal Initiatives (CIM-M).

Of the 12 projects presented, the jury determined that the winners, who will be distributed 1,900 euros, are Kronohealth de María José Martínez;

Natur-Tene by Cristina Sánchez, and SOS-TenT, by Laura Martínez.

The first prize, awarded 1200 euros, has gone to Kronohealth, a platform that, based on the data generated by the Kronowise clock, will analyze the rhythms of activity, temperature, position and ambient light through the circadianware software, in order to generate a complete report on sleep habits and functioning of the biological clock.

One of the runners-up, awarded 350 euros, has been for Natur-Tene, a company dedicated to the innovation and development of food additives 100% natural bio-functional.

The other second prize, also awarded with 350 euros, has been given to SOS-tenT, sustainable clothing brand, made in the region of Murcia, exclusive and aimed at women between 20 and 40 years and with an average purchasing power.

The garments are made with ecological materials, mainly with organic cotton and certified gots.

The confection will be carried out in the Region of Murcia by women at risk of social exclusion who, with the help of Proyecto Abraham, are trained to develop this activity.
