The Department of Modernization of the Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, directed by José Guillén, continues to enhance its historic gardens with the planting of more than 2,000 shrubs.
The main objective is to achieve an aesthetic improvement of the different green areas not only in face of the image that the municipality usually projects, but also because of the arrival of Christmas dates and the consequent increase in tourism and life in the streets of Murcia.
"The historic gardens of the municipality are a meeting point and special visit for Murcia," says Guillén councilor and therefore "are being placed from 'Agapantos' to more exotic species such as 'Cyrtomium falcatum', so that we can attract a greater number of people to these green spaces ".
These are tasks carried out by a team of nine people who are responsible for placing and supervising the most suitable plant for each of the places where they will be located, always respecting an integration with the area and the elements that surround it.
The Murcia Consistory continues to promote the beauty and attraction of the different green spaces as a nerve center for Murcia as well as each of the different green areas of the municipality in order to turn them into spaces of coexistence for all ages.
