The capital becomes the tenth city in Spain where this system of rental 'motosharing' is implemented per minute, with 85 clean and silent vehicles available to drivers.
The City Council will open in December five new charging points for electric cars and motorcycles, which will be completely free and add to the first public 'electrolinera' of La Glorieta.
Renting an electric motorcycle in a simple and fast way to move around any point of the city of Murcia is possible today.
Mayor José Ballesta, together with the Town Planning, Environment and Huerta councilor, Antonio Navarro, and the Muving CEO, Horacio Pérez Perdigó, presented today the new electric motorbikes that the Muving company has arranged in Murcia and that, along of the next few days, will exceed one hundred units.
It is a fleet of 114 clean and silent vehicles that will be gradually deployed in the city, and that favor an efficient and sustainable mobility, contributing to reduce emissions and polluting gases in the municipality.
Murcia thus becomes the tenth city in Spain where this system of rental 'motosharing' is implemented per minute.
The cession of the electric bikes has been carried out by the company Muving and the maintenance, repair and recharging of the battery of the vehicles is in charge of the company Emissions 00, so this initiative does not suppose any expense to the municipal coffers.
Five new 'electrolineras'
The progress of the implementation of electric vehicles in Murcia is a reality through the Local Strategy of the Electric Vehicle 2017-2019, the most important milestone in terms of policies to support this type of mobility, which includes a total of 50 measurements.
In fact, the City will enable five new recharging points for cars and electric bikes this coming December, which will be completely free and add to the first public 'electrolinera' enabled in the Roundabout.
José Ballesta said that "the expansion of the public network of charging points is a sign of the commitment of the City of Murcia for this change in energy model that prioritizes clean and sustainable mobility, one of the main challenges facing cities in this 21st century and for which we must continue working from the awareness and the application of effective measures ".
Specifically, the new locations - which have been voted through a participatory process - are the following: Calle Acisclo Díaz together with Cortefiel;
Gran Vía Alfonso X el Sabio, 13, in front of Pérez Casas;
Circular Plaza;
Av. Rio Segura corner Calle Ambrosio Salazar;
Paseo de Florencia corner with C / Dr. Mesa del Castillo.
Subsidies to neighboring communities
Another of the 50 measures included in the Local Strategy is the line of subsidies that the City Council makes available to neighboring communities for the implementation of electric recharging systems and that has just been published in the BORM, so in the next already weeks may be requested.
We must also remember that in Murcia the electric vehicles with the sticker of zero emissions of the DGT are exempt from the payment of the ORA and area of ​​residents throughout the municipality.
How to rent an electric motorbike
The first thing to do is download the free Muving App on IOS and Android to your mobile phone and register.
When the user starts his session in the application he easily finds the nearest motorcycle, positioned on the map.
It is reserved from the terminal and to unlock it no keys are needed, since the App itself activates the vehicle.
Once the trip is finished, the user can leave the motorcycle parked in any authorized parking area of ​​the city.
The base rate is 0.2 euros / minute, with the first 15 minutes free.
All motorcycles come with built-in helmet.
