This is the third route that will be included in the tourist offer of guided tours after two more, one on the cemetery itself as Cultural and another on writers and artists This itinerary is possible thanks to the agreement signed between the City of Murcia and the University of Murcia together with the Murcian Society of Anthropology

The Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, presented this morning along with members of the University of Murcia the third guide and tourist route of the cemetery of Father Jesus that will be part of the tourist offer of the municipality.

This action supposes putting in value to the most important personalities of the history of Murcia and the recovery of an important part of the cultural patrimony of the municipality.

This project began two years ago and has been carried out thanks to the agreement with the University of Murcia with the Faculty of Anthropology and the Murcian Society of Anthropology (SOMA) to develop studies on the cultural history of this cemetery.

The coordinators of these guides are Pedro Martínez Cavero and Klaus Schriewer.

It is an initiative with which the City wants to promote knowledge about the past that houses this cemetery located in Espinardo, as well as informative activities and publications that encourage the analysis of its cultural history, highlighting illustrious characters whose remains are deposited there.

A total of three guides have already been made: the first on the same cemetery as a cultural asset, the second on writers and artists and this third compendium that gathers members of the nineteenth-century economic and political elite such as Salvador Marín-Baldo Fullea, Mayor of Murcia, Tomás Erades Almodóvar, banker and businessman, or Francisco Peña Vaquero, Industrial.

The visits, which must have a minimum of five people and a maximum of 25, begin this Sunday, a day that is already complete.

Those interested can register by calling 968 35 86 00. More information at www.ayuntamientomurcia-salud.es
