The councilman of Cambiemos Murcia Nacho Tornel has described as "contradiction" that the exhibition of the architectural project that has won the contest of ideas to rehabilitate the Old Prison and those of the other two proposals finalists can only be consulted by the public three days of this week, and in the morning.
For Tornel, "it does not make any sense" that projects of that size, dedicated to a property as symbolic as the old Provincial Prison, "have such a reduced visibility" in its preliminary phase.
"This is the second time that citizenship is denied access to the Old Prison, the first was when the motion of Cambiemos Murcia was rejected to be able to visit it once it was adequate and they took the necessary security measures," the mayor said. .
The municipal training considers that the PP "has a very strange way of promoting a project" like this, of great social, cultural and patrimonial significance for the municipality of Murcia.
For this reason, he has asked that the exhibition be extended and that it not only host the three awarded projects, but all, twenty in total.
As a proposal, Tornel has proposed moving it from the Official College of Architects of the Region of Murcia (COAMU) to a municipal museum, which would also serve as a revulsive for these cultural spaces.
