Next Sunday, November 5, will take place the first edition of the MTB Race "Locos por el Monte" of Santo Ángel, organized by the Neighborhood Association of this district and the Municipal Board, and that will meet from 10 o'clock in the morning more than a hundred cyclists on the forest tracks of the Carrascoy-El Valle Regional Park.
This initiative aims to sensitize cyclists, hikers and runners, as well as hikers in general, "in the conservation of protected natural areas, as it is our obligation to respect the natural values ​​of Carrascoy-El Valle Park above sports hobbies" , indicated the president of the Association of Neighbors of Santo Ángel, Juan Jesús González.
At the beginning of the event, a newsletter will be distributed among those who participate and the public in which Good Environmental Practices are offered for sports activities in the Carrascoy-El Valle Park, such as not to cross the field and to open new paths, not to stop, to avoid erosion, comply with the restrictions of passage, respect the means of rehabilitation and leave no residue.
The Departure will be on Salzillo Street, next to the Santo Ángel Public School (where the Meta will also be) and will have a 38 km route, with medium-high difficulty, through the El Valle-Carrascoy forest protection zone.
The route passes in its totality by forest tracks, with the exception of a section of ascent by the path of the Columns, whose descent is forbidden in bicycle.
The Race Rules establish that any runner or runner who throws any type of waste during the race will be immediately disqualified.
There are two categories: Masculine and Feminine, as well as prizes to the first three classified and a bag for those who participate in the Race.
It is planned to make draws for corridor complements, catering and recreational activities for family members and friends of those attending the event.
