The City of Murcia has scheduled a conditioning plan and a security device to mark the Day of All Saints, with special attention to the municipal cemetery of Our Father Jesus in which, to date, there are 170,155 people buried.
The Department of Sports and Health advises that visits to different cemeteries are made in a staggered way to avoid concentrations.
This council has conditioned both the interior parking of the cemetery of Nuestro Padre Jesús, in the north, and the opening of the access by the highway for the outdoor parking.
In addition, portable toilets have been installed to complement those already existing at the entrance and in the northern zone.
In addition, they have organized a concert in the municipal cemetery that will begin at 11 am with the performance of the vocal and instrumental group Miskorus, preceding the Mass that will officiate, at 12 noon, the Bishop.
During the last months, different improvement projects have been carried out in this cemetery.
Thus, work has been awarded for the rehabilitation of 51 pits in zone I and the corridors in zones 26 and 31. Both works will begin on November 6.
Likewise, the project for the extension of the Muslim cemetery, the construction of pits in zone V and the rehabilitation of Fuensanta street have been drafted.
The septic tank has also been replaced by a sewage treatment plant and access has been provided.
To this we must add the continuity of the project to declare the cemetery as a Cultural Property and an agreement has been signed with the Anthropological Society for the elaboration of cemetery documents.
The Department of Traffic and Public Safety has arranged a special Local Police to meet the needs of the many people who come these days to the various cemeteries of the municipality.
To do this, in the cemetery of Our Father Jesus will be available the number of agents needed from today until Wednesday, November 1, arriving to provide service on October 31 and November 1 a total of 110 police.
To facilitate access and security in this venue to the maximum, different measures will be adopted.
Thus, it will be possible to enter the inner parking lot of the cemetery through the west and north doors while to exit these same doors can be used.
The doors located in the south area will remain closed for vehicles.
During all these days the aforementioned accesses will be indicated by means of informative signs.
On the other hand, service will also be provided at the different flower selling points such as Plaza de Santa Catalina, Plaza de Las Flores, Pedro Pedro Conesa street and door of the Nuestro Padre Jesus cemetery.
Similarly, in the Roundabout of Spain, where the bus stop Special Day Todos Los Santos will be located, service will be provided on November 1.
Likewise, on October 31 and November 1, 265 local police officers will intervene in the 35 cemeteries of districts.
In each place, precise measures will be adopted, such as regulating traffic, closing certain routes to traffic or prohibiting parking in specific areas, according to needs, to facilitate both access and parking of vehicles.
The Department of Development, through the concessionaire Ferrovial Services, deploy a special device for cleaning and collection of waste around the 34 cemeteries of the municipality of Murcia.
This device will be developed with 60 days between operators and drivers and 16 days of trucks and auxiliary vehicles added to the ordinary services existing in those areas.
The works that have already begun and consist mainly of the exhaustive cleaning of the surroundings and access to the cemeteries, with special attention to the main doors of said places including, clearing and fumigation in the areas where these works have been required.
In addition, 22 containers added to the existing ones have been installed in the vicinity of the different fields to collect the waste that is produced these days before and after All Saints' Day.
From November 2 to 12 of that month, the deposited residues that ordinarily usually are during these dates are collected the flowers that have been dry and withered, especially chrysanthemums.
It should be noted that 8 containers of 1,700 liters have been allocated to the municipal cemetery of Nuestro Padre Jesus de Murcia, located on the Madrid road in Espinardo, as it is the busiest crowd during these days that Murcia attend the cemetery to follow the tradition of visiting their loved ones who rest there
For its part, the Department of Modernization of the Administration, Urban Quality and Participation has made the development of landscaped areas attached to the municipal cemetery of Murcia.
In the cemetery of Nuestro Padre Jesús, different tasks have been carried out, such as the elimination of weeds, the placement of albero, or the pruning of some specimens.
The Department of Commerce and Institutional Relations has authorized a total of 59 licenses flower stalls for October 30 and 31 in the hours between 9:00 am and 10:00 pm, and November 1 between 9:00 and 15:00 hours.
These positions will be in the Plaza de las Flores, Plaza de Santa Catalina, C / Parroco Pedro Conesa, Cemetery of Nuestro Padre Jesus, El Palmar (C / Mayor, Cemetery Gate, Ctra Nonduermas in front of the cemetery, C / Mayor together Mercadona, C / Greater Front Correos, C / Mayor together with Pensioner's House and Cemetery of San Ginés), La Alberca (C / Doctor Fleming- in front of the Plaza de Abastos), Espinardo (C / Mayor), Sangonera la Verde (Avda. Constitución and C / Mayor) ) and Beniaján (Church Square and Finca La Fuensanta- Ctra de Algezares).
