The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, visited today the future facilities of the next store of Leroy Merlin in the Montevida commercial park, which is going to involve the creation of 120 new jobs and will be inaugurated next November.

Also present were the director of the Leroy Merlin store, Raúl Robles, the director of the Zona Sureste Region, José Luis Ramírez, and the Expansion Manager of the company, Borja Arambarri.

"Murcia is the seventh capital of Spain and we are among the top 100 in Europe.

The municipality has about half a million inhabitants, a figure that reaches one million in its entire metropolitan area, "said the mayor, who added that" we are one of the cities with the lowest average age in Spain, with a rate birth rate that doubles the European rate.

Murcia is a young and growing city that knows how to welcome the investments of big companies and companies that link their future to that of our city, to generate wealth and employment.

The company has invested 20 million euros for the opening of Leroy Merlin Murcia Sur, located between the towns of La Alberca and El Palmar, which will have a commercial area of ​​more than 8,000 m2.

The store will have a staff of more than 120 employees and involves the creation of 50 indirect jobs.

Leroy Merlin Murcia Sur will be the second store within the city and the third in the Region.

This opening is part of the Expansion Plan 2017-2021 of the company, which provides for the opening of 31 new outlets in Spain, which will involve the investment of 608 million euros and the creation of 4,000 direct jobs and approximately 1,500 indirect.

Leroy Merlin, a large area specialized in decoration, DIY, gardening and construction, will offer the residents of Murcia the best advice on home conditioning and will have more than 30,000 references in stock and 150,000 more on request, divided into 13 sections: Lighting, Sanitaryware, Wood, Tools, Construction Materials, Electricity-Plumbing-Heat, Decoration, Paint, Hardware and Tools, Garden, Carpet, Kitchens and Ceramics.
