The purpose of the Family Homes Association for Children deprived of a Family Environment is to educate minors deprived of a normal family environment in an environment with the right conditions where they can live and develop fully, maintaining households economically, assisting the beneficiaries and supporting them of a social morality of coexistence and stimulation of the sense of responsibility.
A task that does not go alone, but with the support of the City of Murcia through the Department of Social Rights headed by Conchita Ruiz and who will grant a grant of 30,000 euros to boost their projects.
To this end, two homes have been set up in Murcia, for long-term residential care for children between the ages of 6 and 17.
Some of the areas currently benefiting 15 children who are stable are in the two floors of reception that the association has in the municipality of Murcia.
The temporary shelter program has among its objectives to promote the integration of the new arrivals by means of the following measures:
Facilitate the adaptation of the children to the center.
Facilitate the emotional opening of the child and strengthen channels of emotional security to the child.
Encourage tolerance and acceptance of minors towards their peers, especially those who belong to other ethnic groups or cultures.
Integrate the child into the community through leisure, creativity and the promotion of culture.
Make children aware of their current situation and prepare them for new alternatives for the future.
Aid to the Family Orientation Center "Mater Familiae"
But it is not the only aid that has received the backing of the Governing Board.
Also the Family Orientation Center "Mater Familiae", dependent of the Diocese of Cartagena was born in 2007, will obtain 8,500 euros thanks to the subsidy of the Council of Social Rights.
The work of this association focuses on the comprehensive and specialized care of the family in crisis situations.
Since 2008 has subsidies by the City of Murcia.
In the framework of the relationship established, Mater Familiae promotes the Family Orientation Center for the development of the Project "Comprehensive and specialized care of the family", through a Program of Prevention, Counseling and Guidance in Situations of Family Crisis.
Among the activities carried out are counseling, counseling and therapy aimed at families in crisis situations and various formative activities.
