The Department of Youth and Development Cooperation has been one of the leading entities of the First International Seminar on Youth Research, organized by the Youth Council of Extremadura and the magazine Cuadernos de Investigación en Juventud, with university collaboration, of the Council of the Youth of Spain and Extremadura institutions that ends today at the University of Cáceres.
This International Seminar is the first initiative focused on the study and analysis of diverse issues related to youth, which seeks to fill a gap in research on issues that clearly concern young people.
The City of Murcia has been present in this Seminar with the participation of the municipal technician, Francisco Manuel Reverte, Head of Participation Programs of the Department of Youth and Cooperation that has exposed both the practical experiences of youth participation developed in the municipality of Murcia, the right of association as an element of social change and the figure of youth associations as an innovative contribution of the Spanish order to promote the participation of young people.
Among the objectives of the event are:
To know the state of the issue in four issues that concern the lives of young people today: Sociology;
Law;
Economy;
and City.
Provide a space for the theoretical-methodological debate about studies related to research in youth.
To agree on an academic discourse that contributes to the improvement of effective public policies for the integral development of the youth.
To analyze, from a plural and multidisciplinary perspective, the impact that the current problems have on the life of the young population, on their expectations of future and on their process of social incorporation.
Participating speakers include professors and professors from the Universities of Lisbon, Mexico, Zaragoza, Madrid, Valencia, Oviedo, Cáceres, etc.
