The Assembly Hall of Los Molinos del Río has hosted this afternoon a meeting between the Councilor for Youth and Development Cooperation and representatives of non-governmental development organizations, non-profit institutions, institutions and associations established locally in the municipality of Murcia interested in concurring to the subsidies recently approved by the Governing Board of the City of Murcia for the promotion of projects of development cooperation and awareness for the year 2017.

"The amount allocated to development cooperation projects will total 339,000 euros and 50,000 euros for awareness-raising and development education projects," recalled the councilor, who added that "the concession procedure will be competitive. within the limits established in the municipal budget and subject to the valuation system and criteria set forth in this call, in accordance with the provisions of Article 22.1 of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Grants.

According to have been able to know the representatives that have come to the meeting, the projects of education for the development and sensitization in the Municipality of Murcia, will have like aims the following:

1- Foment in the society of Murcia, especially among children and young people, the values ​​of solidarity and development cooperation and responsible consumption habits, the reality of less developed countries and the causes that generate poverty.

2- Promotion of training and training of volunteers in the municipality of Murcia for specialized work in the field of solidarity and development cooperation.

3- Temporary reception of children from developing countries.

A call with which, explained Councilor Rebeca Perez "is intended to support actions and interventions in the field of international cooperation for development that are carried out in less developed countries, and those carried out in Spain in awareness-raising activities the inhabitants of the municipality, encouraging and channeling their interest in participation in the issues of Cooperation and Solidarity, as well as those aimed at the temporary reception of people from developing countries.
