The Councilor for Traffic and Citizen Security, Lola Sánchez, held this morning a meeting with the president of the municipal councils of Patiño, Los Dolores, Infante Juan Manuel, El Carmen and San Pio X to explain in detail the work to improve the traffic while developing underground work on the train tracks.
Today, the deadline for the submission of tenders is late and, in the absence of those that can be reached by ordinary mail, six companies have submitted their proposals to carry out the works related to traffic management in Murcia due to the railway underground.
According to the councilor in this project and others being developed by the City Council "100% of the suggestions and requests of the presidents of the municipal councils have been incorporated."
Thus, from the Traffic Service, and based on the information ADIF has provided on the development of work for the execution of the works called New High Speed ​​Rail Access Levante Madrid-Castilla La Mancha - Comunidad Valenciana - Murcia, section: Access to Murcia and Permeabilización del Trazado Ferroviario, an exhaustive analysis of the real situation and the prognosis of traffic that will involve such diversions have been carried out.
In this way, a series of measures are proposed, almost immediately, involving the installation of new elements of traffic regulation and centralization in the current Traffic Control Room of various traffic light installations that are located in these vials with the so that traffic management (monitoring, control and regulation) is carried out quickly and efficiently and in conditions of maximum safety.
To this end, the municipal technicians have determined that it is necessary to carry out a series of works such as the centralization of the road axis Juan Antonio Perea - Pintor Pedro Flores - Pintor Almela Costa - Ronda Sur, for the correct management of traffic from the Control Room of the Service Traffic, and the installation of a closed circuit television for the correct management of any incident or traffic problem immediately.
It will also centralize the existing intersection between Pío XII and Calle Huerto, to allow to regulate the phases according to the greater expected traffic load.
The project also includes the works to enable a traffic signal right from Ronda Sur to Morera Street, to improve traffic flow in that node.
It will also improve the exit of traffic from the neighborhoods of Santiago El Mayor and San Pío to Ronda Sur, enabling a traffic signal right and left in Miguel Angel Blanco with Ronda Sur.
Finally, work is included to expedite the departure of Pintor Almela Costa to Ronda Sur, starting at the roundabout to phases.
In summary, they are works of installation and modification of equipment in the public thoroughfare and in Control Room, which will cover from the installation of the conduits and the corresponding electrical wiring, through the installation and modification of poles, columns, traffic lights and cameras, in addition to the installation and modification of regulators and other street equipment.
Likewise, these actions involve software and hardware work to synchronize and centralize traffic lights, which will include necessary actions in traffic controllers, zone centers and the Traffic Control Room itself.
The proposed execution period is three months and the bidding budget amounts to 241,894.60 euros.
