On the initiative of the Spanish Association of Friends of Children and Youth Book, since 1997, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, October 24 was set as Library Day, with the aim of raising awareness of society the importance of reading and as homage and recognition to the work of librarians and librarians.
That is why the Department of Education led by Rafael Gomez, through the Municipal Library Network of Murcia, has scheduled a set of activities to be developed until 28 October and whose protagonists will be students of primary and secondary of many educational centers of the municipality.
"Bringing children closer to the libraries, the reality they treasure and the benefits of their knowledge, as well as the possibilities they offer to students during their school stage and their leisure time are some of the goals we set ourselves with the organization of these varied activities, "highlighted Rafael Gómez during his visit to the exhibition of folding books in the Municipal Library of Cabezo de Torres.
