The City of Murcia, through its municipal theaters, has organized a tribute to José Zorrilla, on the occasion of the second centenary of his birth.
The Valladolid author dedicated to the city his famous poem 'De Murcia al cielo', born of his passing as a rhapsode by the Teatro Romea.
Precisely Murcia maintains the tradition of representing the drama Don Juan Tenorio in the traditions dates of All Saints.
The tribute will begin next Monday, November 30 at 7 pm, with the lecture 'Bitter memory of Zorrilla', by César Oliva, in the Hall of Mirrors of Romea, illustrated with scenes from the work.
The entrance will be free until capacity is completed.
The six performances of the Tenorio will be followed by the company Cecilio Pineda, directed by Julio Navarro, from Tuesday, October 31 to Sunday, November 5, with schedules and prices that can be consulted on the Romea website.
This commemoration will close with the staging of Han killed Don Juan, Federico Oliver, by the theater group Olea, Algezares, directed by Manuel de Reyes.
For this performance, which will take place on Thursday, November 3 at 9.30 pm on the same stage as the Teatro Romea, tickets can be collected free of charge at the Romea box office from Tuesday 31 October.
