The Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, the Director General of Sports, Alonso Gómez, together with the President of the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation, Miguel Diaz, and the President of the Tennis Federation of the Region of Murcia, Jose Alcolea , in addition to the President Murcia Tennis Club 1919, Antonio Saura, have presented this morning the Spanish championship of absolute tennis for men's teams of the first category that will take place from 2 to 4 November.

This championship of Spain, the third time that is celebrated in Murcia, will be made entirely in the facilities of the Murcia Tennis Club 1919 and the format of the competition will consist of 8 teams (4 heads of the ranking of the players), the number of matches per tie will be 5 singles and 2 doubles and there will be a champion and a team that descends to 2nd category.

It is the maximum team competition held in our country and in it participate the 8 best Spanish clubs, represented by first level players, some of which are among the best in the ATP ranking.

These clubs are:

- Real Club de Tenis Barcelona 1899.

- Tennis Club Valencia.

- Chamartín Tennis Club.

- Club Stadium Casablanca of Zaragoza

- Cercle Sabadelles.

- Real Polo Club of Barcelona.

- Barcino Tennis Club.

- Murcia Tennis Club 1919.

It is expected that the presence of, among others, Albert Ramos, Guillermo Garcia, Marcel Granollers, Pedro Sousa, Roberto Bautista, Teimuraz Gabashvili, Marc Lopez, Pablo Carreño, Daniel Gimeno, Taro Daniel, Fernando Verdasco and Nicolas Almagro.

In order to choose the venue, it has taken into account the experience in organization of events of maximum level that has the club, the fact that its equipment is among the best ones of Spain, as well as the amount of public and the reception that the city and Region has provided to previous competitions.
