· The mayor Carlos Peñafiel considers that the obligation of José Ballesta and his team is to render accounts to the Murcia, detailing with transparency in what their taxes are spent

The mayor of Ciudadanos Carlos Peñafiel will defend a motion in plenary on Thursday demanding the local government more transparency when reporting on the advertising and institutional campaigns of the City of Murcia.

Thus, Peñafiel will demand the Government of the PP to initiate the necessary procedures so that the councilor responsible for this matter, José Guillén, undertakes to bring to the next Committee of Plenary concrete data on the number, date, media, thematic, and expenditure of institutional publicity that the Consistory has made since the beginning of this legislature.

Likewise, the Orange Councilor will request the quarterly publication on the municipal web of the institutional campaigns that have been contracted, as well as the subsidies, signatures of agreements, aid or sponsorship agreements with media or companies related to the field of communication .

In Peñafiel's opinion, "the opaqueness of José Ballesta and his team with this issue is more than evident, when their obligation is to render accounts to all citizens because we speak of public money."

Similarly, Peñafiel added that "if we want the people of Murcia to know what their taxes are spent, an administration with a transparent glass roof and walls is necessary, in which everyone has access to the expenses of this administration and is current in the use of their money, which is everyone's, and this initiative is headed towards that line. "

"There are already laws at the state and regional level that contemplate the publication of these campaigns and the public expenditure they generate," he recalled Peñafiel, "for the sake of transparency, good governance and good management has required José Ballesta to preach with the example and inform the citizens in a timely and detailed manner ".
