Change Murcia will raise to the ordinary plenary session next Thursday a motion for the City Council to promote the creation of a Network of Municipal Schools that responds to the basic training needs in this area in the municipality.
The proposal of the municipal formation also raises the need for the Consistory to create a Band of Music of Murcia in which musicians from the Network, the local bands and the Conservatory of Music participate.
Councilor Nacho Tornel has pointed out that the existence of four bands and two conservatories in the municipality shows the musical tradition of Murcia, although the passage of time and economic and material difficulties "have made a dent" in initiatives in this area.
"The effort of musical groups and families have allowed a good part of the students of the professional conservatory to be nurtured by young people, although this sacrifice is reaching impossible limits to maintain," added Tornel.
In this sense, the mayor explained that in recent years some associations "have had to dispense with trainers for their young quarries", given the decrease in aid, "often with a rather irregular and clearly insufficient format."
In the case of the districts, "if the preparation of the young musicians is maintained by the increasing efforts of families", since "what was once an affordable and close training, is becoming an inaccessible activity" .
For Cambiemos Murcia, the creation of a Municipal School could constitute "a fundamental tool to ensure a musical education project coordinated in the municipality."
In addition, it would serve as a legal and institutional framework that ensures the stage of musical education not regulated and consolidate the transit of musicians from the different schools to the own bands, ensuring the availability of facilities, teaching staff and instruments.
