The Cecilio Pineda Company originated in 1907, when a Murcian of the same name, born in Espinardo, decided to represent for the first time, in the Teatro Romea de Murcia, the character of Don Juan, of the work Don Juan Tenorio de José Zorrilla.
It counted on that date 24 years of age.
Since November 1989, this company has been representing without interruption and every year with more number of performances, thanks to the collaboration of the City of Murcia, which reserves the Teatro Romea in the traditional dates for this event.
The tradition of staging the Tenorio on All Saints' Day is kept by a few cities.
The most respectful of this custom is Murcia, where the Cecilio Pineda Company represents it since 1907.
