Murcia will host from 7 to 9 November the X Conference of the Performing Arts of the Murcia Region of the MurciaaEscena Association, a business forum and debate among the different professionals in the sector.
The Teatro Romea will be the stage, on November 7, at 8pm, of the Azahar Awards, some awards that recognize the work of Murcia creators, producers and performers with 17 categories, as well as the three awards special and honorary awards awarded by a commission formed by members of MurciaaEscena.
Thus, the honorary prize has been awarded posthumously to Antonio Morales y Marín, theater director, playwright and director of ESAD;
the Teatro Apolo Theater Company;
the Creation of Young to the company The Monstruas and the one of Dance to the company Saorín in Dance
This festival of the performing arts of Murcia seeks to recognize the creative and entrepreneurial work of the different professionals of the sector, valuing the work of regional creators and producers, as well as helping the outdoor promotion of shows.
The gala will be presented by Encarna Talavera and will feature the artistic direction of José Carlos Ruiz.
Coinciding with the 15th anniversary of MurciaaEscena, these days will be about resistance and resilience, given the common need of all companies in the sector to stay current and overcome adversity, analyzing for three days the situation of the theatrical scene in Murcia with lectures and discussion meetings.
Companies, producers, actors, directors, playwrights and technicians will meet in Murcia in order to create a space for debate and reflection, join forces and expand training in all fields, from the public and private, encourage dialogue and pose common problems.
The discussion forum is made up of a total of four papers at the Centro Párraga de Murcia.
The first two interventions will be on November 8 in the afternoon, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
They will be led by Elena Carrascal, distributor and manager of the company impulse X Distribution of Seville, who will speak on 'New strategies in distribution', and then Esperanza Clares, president of MurciaaEscena, will present the 'Strategic Plan for the Performing Arts in Region of Murcia '.
On November 9, also in the afternoon, from 4 pm to 7:45 pm, the last two presentations will be given.
María Sánchez de la Cruz, Director of Theater del Bosque (Móstoles, Madrid), will start talking about 'The management of scenic spaces' and Fulgencio M. Lax, playwright, ESAD professor of Murcia, member of the collective DREM and exsocio MurciaaEscena, will review 'Fifteen years of MurciaaEscena.
2002-2017 '.
In the framework of these days, the Teatro Circo de Murcia will host the 1st Business Forum in which the companies associated with MurciaaEscena will perform the presentation of their productions to invited regional programmers.
It will be held throughout the morning of 9 November in two rounds, one from 10 am to 11 am and the other from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm.
