The Science and Water Museum has hosted the first edition of 'Lunches of Tourism', a new training program aimed at companies and services distinguished with the Commitment of Tourism Quality, in order to extend and consolidate the culture of quality in the municipality.
In the meeting today, under the title 'Resources and tourist attractions in the municipality of Murcia', have participated representatives of the Hotel Conde de Floridablanca, Terra Natura Murcia, Science Museum, Radio Taxi, Murcia Go !, Minibar , Camille Lucie Murcia, Centro Párraga, Imartours, General Directorate of the Natural Environment, El Valle Visitor Center, Dianthus Florist, Tenvisión, University Museum, Craft Center, Vanila, Cafes Salzillo and Titis Clothing, plus four taxi drivers and two tour guides.
Thus, during lunch the main cultural and tourist resources of the municipality of Murcia have been made known, and basic training has been provided to inform those tourists who request it, thus becoming real ambassadors of Murcia.
The attendees have been able to know a historical review of the city of Murcia, starting with the first settlers of the municipality in the Copper Age, to the most modern and contemporary architecture of the city.
Likewise, the most representative monuments and places of interest such as the Cathedral and its surroundings, the Casino, the Rafael Moneo building, the Regional Center of Handicrafts, the Artillery Barracks and all the spaces that it places, squares and gardens have been explained. Santo Domingo, the Flowers or San Juan, the University of Murcia in the Merced or the own UCAM, places of the orchard like the Contraparada or the famous tower houses so typical of the local architecture.
Reference has also been made to the main Museums, Interpretation Centers and Exhibition Halls focusing on those of Salzillo, Claras, San Juan de Dios, Interpretation Center of the Wall, but also of others such as the Interpretation Center of La Luz or Monteagudo, Museum of the Belén in Puente Tocinos or the Paleontological Museum of the Garres.
The products typical of the garden have been reviewed and their curious names as abercoque, alcanillo or panocha, marineras, salcados, typical sausages, the cake of Cierva and of Meat or the tradition of the ñora.
In addition, the most relevant parties and celebrations have been explained, theaters and spaces suitable for performances, auditoriums and the Congress Palace, the hotel offer of the City, and infrastructures of tourist interest such as the tourist bus, train stations and buses , parking or markets.
Also referred to the road of Levante or the Way of the Cross as it passes through Murcia as well as other areas of scenic interest for nature lovers.
This first edition of 'Lunches of tourism' includes three training actions in which will address the needs of the different subsectors that make up the SICTED in the municipality of Murcia, through 3 workshops that will host the municipal museums.
The aim is to contribute to the purpose of the Integral System of Tourist Quality in Destinations in the city of Murcia, that is to say, the integral and permanent management of the quality of the services and products offered to tourists who visit the city, and contribute to the fulfillment of its fundamental objectives.
As most companies and services continue to renew the distinction, this initiative offers new training actions that help them in the process of continuous improvement.
These workshops-lunches, which are free of charge, are held from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm to facilitate the attendance of microentrepreneurs and businesses with little staff.
Lunch will be served by the students of the municipal school of catering "Murcia Emplea".
The program is completed with two other lunches: 'Good practices for the care of customers with disabilities', in the City Museum, on November 8, and' The user, in the center.
Initiation to the design of services for small businesses', in Space Molinos del Rio, November 23.
