The University of Murcia (UMU) and the company Eurofins Villapharma Research, located in the Science Park of Fuente Alamo, have signed a collaboration agreement whose main objective is the joint development of industrial doctorates and the promotion of extracurricular practices of students of this institution in the facilities of the said company.
The agreement also contemplates that the company will host at least two doctoral students in Organic Chemistry to develop the industrial doctorate in its facilities.
It also states that each year will receive at least three students to practice in the same, which provides for scholarships ranging from 300 euros per month to 700 euros, according to the length of the day of the same.
During the signing ceremony held in the Convalescence building, the Rector's headquarters, Eurofins Villapharma Research's CEO, José Manuel Villalgordo, stressed the importance for companies to have scientific knowledge, to add that the university you must transform the money you receive into knowledge, while the company must convert this into money.
In the act also the Vice-rector of Transfer, Entrepreneurship and Employment, Professor Francisca Tomás, who analyzed the content of the agreement and stressed the importance of the labor insertion of graduates.
For his part, the president of the UMU, Jose Orihuela, welcomed the agreement and extended this congratulation to the company, given the leading role given to scientific knowledge, which, he said, has such a prominent role in the development of the Region.
