The facade of the Moneo building will light pink on Thursday, October 19, starting at 8.30 p.m. on the occasion of International Breast Cancer Day.
With this initiative, carried out at the proposal of the council of Social Rights, directed by Conchita Ruiz, Murcia joins other Spanish cities that will illuminate its most emblematic buildings of this color.
In this way, it is intended to honor all those women who suffer from this disease, or have suffered it, and show support in their daily struggle, as well as sensitize society and create spaces for participation that tend to strengthen people with respect to forms of prevention, treatment and control of cancer.
It is estimated that breast cancer causes 1.38 million new cases and 458 thousand deaths each year worldwide.
It is estimated that 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer throughout their life and that every minute one dies because of this disease.
