The Department of Youth and Development Cooperation, in its strong commitment to collaborate with associations and organizations working with the most disadvantaged, maintains its support for the CEPAIM Foundation and its accompanying project to women in Senegal.
Founded in 1994, the CEPAIM Foundation has as its mission to promote a model of an inclusive and intercultural society that facilitates full access to the citizenship rights of the most vulnerable people in our society and, especially, migrants, developing policies of fight against any form of social exclusion and collaborate in the development of the local territories and the countries of origin of the migrants.
The project "Accompaniment of women's groups in the towns of Ngagnakh, Keur Ibra and Keur Ndiouga of the Louga Senegal Region in the process of processing and marketing of local cereals" aims to improve food and nutritional security in the villages of Ngagnakh , Keur Ibra and Keur Ndiouga.
It develops in a vulnerable area, little covered by the action of development organizations, and is often subject to climate risks and food insecurity.
The project, which receives a subsidy close to 1,200 euros and which benefits more than 1,600 people, integrates youth organizations and women;
women's advocacy groups (GPFs) as development agents to strengthen and accompany the promotion of employment, income generation for the family economy, empowerment and participation.
This includes activities related to the strengthening of the capacities of beneficiaries for greater leadership in the valuation of agri-food products in the framework of a network of groups and associations
To this end, basic training actions in the value chain have been carried out on agri-food products for processing, accounting management (expenses, income, balance), commercial management and literacy.
In addition, thanks to the implementation of this project, a cereal processing plant has been set up and equipped with cereal processing machinery.
