The Governing Board has approved the assignment to Urbamusa for the drafting and direction of work of hydrological and hydraulic projects for the execution of works of passage in districts that will allow to avoid, as far as possible, the floods that usually occur during intense rain episodes in Our city.
The proposal has been presented to the Governing Board by the Department of Development, headed by Roque Ortiz.
To do so, we have analyzed some of the points in which these floods occur more regularly, as well as those that cause more problems for citizens, so that you can start working in the most problematic places.
Thus, the civil works projects that are going to be realized can be classified into two types: Firstly, to carry out works of passage under streets that allow the runoff water to cross the vials without causing alterations to the traffic, and, secondly, to execute small masonry dikes in the rambles that greater volume of water contribute in the episodes of rain of such form that a previous lamination of the avenues can be realized, minimizing its negative impact on the city.
For the accomplishment of the hydrological and hydraulic studies will be necessary the taking of topographic data in each one of the basins.
These studies will have to be agreed and authorized by the Segura Hydrographic Confederation.
In the Rambla del Puerto del Garruchal will be executed a work of passage and the necessary road conditioning in the cross section of the rambla Puerto del Garruchal with the road RM-302, located between Beniaján and Torreagüera, as well as another work of passage upstream of the indicated, in the street Rincon del Gallego.
On the Rambla de El Carmen, another work will be carried out for the passage and conditioning of the road at the intersection between the aforementioned rambla and the RM-A4 road, located in Cabezo de Torres (Murcia).
On the ramblas in Sangonera La Verde (Cuevas del Norte and Depósito Mayayo) and rambla in Los Martínez del Puerto, three works of passage and conditioning will be carried out at the crossroads of the mentioned ramblas and urban roads, located in the districts Sangonera la Verde and Los Martínez del Puerto.
The hydrological corrections projects for floodplaining consist of executing a total of four masonry dikes at the headwaters of El Carmen ramblas, Rambla de Churra, Rambla de Espinardo and Rambla del Garruchal.
The total execution budget for all actions amounts to more than two million euros, while the deadline for delivery of the final projects would occur in a total period of six months.
