The Minister of Employment, Universities and Enterprise, Juan Hernández, received this morning at the headquarters of this counseling to members of the SAMEBullying team composed of students from UCAM, Javier Iniesta, Paloma Teruel and Juan Fernando Hernández who were raised with him the first national prize of hackathon 2017 organized by Telefónica.
The students have explained to the counselor the benefits of this application for society, which has been promoted by the Chair of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Digital Era and the Technological Institute of UCAM.
The app has been developed by a multidisciplinary team that works on the detection, prevention and treatment of cyberbullying by monitoring, through its artificial intelligence, the social networks used by minors to identify behavioral patterns known as precursors of future stalkers and also those in which aggression is already occurring.
This information activates action protocols categorized by risk levels to offer individualized responses that are adapted to each of them from three environments: family, school and professional.
Juan Hernández has said that with this type of work real solutions are given to the problems of society, "problems are solved thanks to people who are trained in universities in our Region."
César Nicolás, executive director of the Technological Institute of the Catholic University, added that "we are very satisfied with the results obtained and we are convinced of the successes that will be gathered in the near future. support for".
It should be remembered that this application was presented a few days ago in the Telefónica Space of Madrid before the representatives of the Network of Chairs of Telefónica and a group of incubators of startups, in order to capture talent and innovation in the ideas presented.
The members of SAMEBullying received, for the first prize, an endowment of € 8,000, as well as the prestigious Telefónica Open Future award that will facilitate them to continue to develop and grow their project.
