The Councilor for Traffic and Public Safety, Lola Sánchez, this morning inaugurated the second edition of Vial Week, the week of road safety, organized by the City Council in collaboration with the Regional Association of Autoescuelas Murcia (Aramur).
Throughout the morning, Cajamar's classroom of culture has hosted several talks that have exposed the importance in road safety of technological advances in vehicles, the role of other means of transportation, such as the tram, and their interaction with the other users of the road and the identification of the most vulnerable groups in traffic and how to act to prevent accidents.
In addition, the instruments promoted by the General Directorate of Traffic have been made known in order to achieve the goal of shared mobility between users in a less polluting way, and in a safe road environment.
During the weekend (Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.) in the Plaza Santo Domingo, there will be workshops and simulations and demonstrations of activities to promote road safety with Civil Guard, Local Police, Fire and Sanitary Services.
They will make a display of vehicles, material and personnel, where they will show the Murcia all the actions they take to increase road safety, such as how alcohol and drug detection devices work, radars, roadside help .. In addition, they will carry out a mock release of traffic victims trapped in a vehicle.
Similarly, the teachers of driving schools associated with Aramur will give free practical classes to citizens in conflict zones such as
bowers, efficient driving that improves comfort, increases safety and decreases consumption, maintenance cost and emissions and shift wheel and placement chains.
The smaller ones will be able to participate in an awareness campaign in which with games and through a circuit they will know the importance of the road safety and the obedience of the signals.
Bicycles and tricycles for children will be used, and a circuit will be drawn up with traffic signs.
In addition, several simulators will be placed, such as the tipping, which will recreate what happens when a vehicle overturns, and the importance of the correct use of the seat belt;
frontal impact at a very low speed, but which will serve to transmit what could be at a normal speed, helping to raise awareness of the importance of respecting traffic rules and signals, and appropriate use of protective measures (seat belts, airbags, etc.)
Likewise, through the use of special glasses, attendees will undergo a simulation to test in the first person the effects of these substances in driving.
In addition, there will be theoretical-practical sessions throughout the day, where you will be traveling in different groups of streets in Murcia, and instructors will teach you how to cycle on the safest way.
In addition, and coinciding on Saturday with full moon, will be held the "Moon bike" where you will enjoy pedaling from the city, leaving from the Glorieta de España (Ayuntamiento de Murcia) at 19:00 with a course of approximately between 10 and 15 kilometers.
In addition to these activities, there will be informational points from Traffic Accident Victim Associations, as well as the Blood Hemodontic Center, and companies that have developed tools to improve road safety.
