Lola Sánchez has intervened this morning before the plenary of the European Parliament to demand the immediate cessation of the construction of the wall and has demanded that the underground works of the highways begin when they arrive in the city of Murcia.
"When we have spent the whole week looking at Catalonia, in other regions it is used to repress in the same way that is to say, with violent police charges legitimate citizen protests," said the MEP.
Lola Sánchez has reminded his European colleagues that the burial of the roads "is a demand that the residents of the city of Murcia have been demanding for thirty years," and with which the regional government chaired by Ramon Luis Valcárcel who was in the plenary at that time had already committed in 2006 in an agreement signed between CARM, the Ministry of Public Works and the City of Murcia.
Sánchez Caldentey has also alluded to the "million euros that have disappeared along the way", in relation to the ERDF funds allocated to the AVE to Murcia.
This issue was the subject last week of a parliamentary question tabled by Podemos, which is awaiting a response from the European Commission to clarify its whereabouts.
