The Councilor for Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesús Pacheco, last night gathered in Tallinn the seal of quality granted by the URBACT program of the European Union to the City of Murcia.
Pacheco explained that "belonging to a URBACT Network gives a city great prestige and positioning, improving the possibilities of access to other European initiatives such as the DUSI, Smart Cities, Horizon 2020 ..."
"Murcia is already part of an URBACT network, where it is valued excellently by its partners. But receiving a quality award from such a prestigious network at European level is a recognition of the work we do," said Pacheco.
The award 'Urbact Good Practice Label' is awarded for the work carried out in areas of urban revitalization and regeneration of neighborhoods.
The councilman thanked the evaluation and recognition of good management of the City of Murcia, noting that "it is our daily work, and our commitment to doing well, which has made us stand out above many other projects and municipalities in this case ".
"The award is an international recognition of Murcia as a city, and the City as a good manager, an example to be followed by other cities that face similar trade-offs that we have made and will continue to do," said Pacheco.
