The City of Murcia has been awarded a Quality Seal in recognition of the implementation and management of projects at European level identified as good practices by one of the most prestigious programs of the European Union, URBACT.
URBACT, the European learning and exchange program for integrated sustainable urban development, thus rewards projects of excellence that they believe should be shared with other European cities.
The Councilor for Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesús Pacheco, is moving to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, where he will attend the awards ceremony, which will be attended by representatives of municipalities throughout Europe, as well as political leaders of the member states, the European political bodies and the European secretariats.
The City Council, which is already a member of a network belonging to URBACT called Interactive Cities, has been putting value in the work that is being carried out in Murcia through its European Programs service.
"It is not only the exchange of information, but also the know-how, methodologies and tools that allow us to improve our municipality for all Murcianos," said the Councilor.
Interactive Cities works in the fields of urban regeneration, citizen interaction and participatory processes, with the fundamental objective being to improve the quality of public services in terms of efficiency and transparency, promoting better urban governance, citizen participation and innovation in terms Communication.
