The University of Murcia is present in the fourth program of Cartagena Piensa, one of the most innovative programs of the Department of Culture of Cartagena, where it collaborates with the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT) and various groups and associations, and citizenship in general .
The conferences, cycles, workshops and different events that will take place between October and December will aim to "incorporate thought, philosophy and scientific culture into municipal cultural programming", as well as the democratization of thought and science.
The activities, aimed at both children and adults, will be held in numerous libraries, as well as associations or cultural points of Cartagena.
The University of Murcia collaborates mainly through the Faculty of Philosophy.
In fact, on Tuesday 3 October, his dean, Antonio Campillo, presented the talk "The collapse is not the end of the world: Tracks for a strategic reflection", which will be given by Jorge Riechmann, essayist, philosopher, ecologist and Doctor of Political Science .
This event is part of the cycle: "Ecosocial Transition or collapse", integrated in the activities of this quarter, which will be completed with two more talks in November and December.
This activity aims to foster critical thinking before the fundamental problem of our time: the unfeasibility of the dominant model of collective human life.
Alejandro Moreno, PhD in Philosophy at the University of Murcia, will give "Philosophy workshops for adults: Philosophy for life", workshop divided into four sessions.
In this activity, self-knowledge is sought through philosophical dialogue where classical themes and authors of philosophy are introduced, so that the audience can become aware of their philosophy of life.
The number of places for this workshop is limited to 20 participants and registrations can be made at cartagenapiensa@ayto-cartagena.es.
Among the many activities that will be carried out, the colloquium "Surrogate Gestation / Rental Ventures: The Moral Debate" or the workshop "Stimulation through music and movement for babies", as well as the scientific workshops aimed at the children's audience.
